Agere Systems ORiNOCO RG-1000 Residential Gateway Like any good engineer, the first thing I did with my RG-100 was to open it up.
The radio in the RG-1000 is based on a stock ORiNOCO 802.11b Silver PC card that is plugged into a small motherboard containing a PC card connector and an AMD chipset. The modem in the RG-1000 lives on a daughter board that plugs into the under side of the motherboard.
In the HP co-branded device, the PC card, which no ordinary user would ever see, amusingly is the co-branded variety, as can be seen in the picture below.

174496 - ACC97: Misleading Information in IIS Readme.HTM For performance and reliability reasons, we strongly recommend the use
of Microsoft SQL Server for the deployment of production-quality Web
applications. Although Active Server Pages works with any ODBC-compliant
database, it has been extensively tested and is designed to work with
Microsoft SQL Server. ASP also supports Microsoft Access as a valid data
source. Although the sample Web site and examples in this release use
Microsoft Access, we recommend that Microsoft Access be used solely for
development purposes and not for production. Microsoft Access was
designed as a single-user desktop database, and not for server use.
When multiple, concurrent users make requests of a Microsoft Access
database, unpredictable results may occur.

Macromedia - Designer & Developer : Switching from ASP to ColdFusion If you are a PHP developer looking to learn Macromedia ColdFusion, you will find it is an easy transition. Although the two technologies are very different, a basic understanding of PHP will provide many of the skills required to make the change. The reasons for making such a change will be varied—it may be a project requirement, or you may want to increase your productivity. We'll address both topics in this article, as well as discuss some of the new features that make ColdFusion MX even more attractive for developers.

Java Developer Connection - Forums Fixed thanks to earlier post (jan 2001).
This is a bug in IIOImage.java in imageio.jar. The way to fix it
is to use the source that comes with the imageio library and
edit lines 93 and 94 of IIOImage.java to replace "raster"
with "image". Then compile the file and replace it in
imageio.jar. The bug is quite obvious as the comments and
function parameters refer to image but the code tests the member
raster.

JDOM: FAQ JDOM is, quite simply, a Java representation of an XML document. JDOM provides a way to represent that document for easy and efficient reading, manipulation, and writing. It has a straightforward API, is a lightweight and fast, and is optimized for the Java programmer. It's an alternative to DOM and SAX, although it integrates well with both DOM and SAX.

White PaperWireless LAN discovery through the use of applications such as NetStumbler, DStumbler, Wellenreiter and others is an increasingly popular technique for network penetration. The discovery of a wireless LAN might be used for seemingly innocuous Internet access, or to be used as a "backdoor" into a network to stage an attack. This paper reviews some of the tactics used in wireless LAN network discovery and attempts to identify some of the fingerprints left by wireless LAN discovery applications, focusing on the MAC and LLC layers.

ONJava.com: Learning and Using Jakarta Digester [Oct. 23, 2002]Turning an XML document into a corresponding hierarchy of Java bean objects is a fairly common task. In a previous article, I described how to accomplish this using the standard SAX and DOM APIs.

Although powerful and flexible, both APIs are, in effect, too low-level for the specific task at hand. Furthermore, the unmarshalling procedure itself requires a fair amount of coding: a parse-stack must be maintained when using SAX, and the DOM-tree must be navigated when using DOM.

This is where the Apache Jakarta Commons Digester framework comes in.
